The confluence of the Morava and Dyje rivers gave its name to the whole area. Thanks to its previous inaccessibility (until 1989), the vicinity of the border of the three states has preserved the natural character of the floodplain forest with all the positive and negative aspects. About 200 m northwest of the confluence itself stands a historic boundary stone from 1755, which was built by Empress Maria Theresa to mark the border of the Moravian Margraviate.
