The construction was made by Jan I. Josef of Liechtenstein. The authorship of the proposal is unclear. It is usually attributed to Josef Kornhäusel, Josef Hardtmuth or Josef Engel. According to the project, the chateau was built by the builders Josef Poppelack or Karel Schleps. [1] [2] The construction of the chateau itself took place in the years 1826 - 1827. The land on which the chateau was built originally belonged only to Moravia, but approximately at the time of the chateau construction the land border between Moravia and Lower Austria shifted to the middle of the chateau. This later border is documented by the inscription "Zwischen Österreich und Mähren" on its facade. This border was formed by the Včelínek stream flowing through the hall of the chateau. The chateau was built on swampy ground, which first had to be reinforced with wooden piles and gratings, on which the foundations of the building were then laid. [3] The total cost of building the castle was PLN 70,573. [4] After the castle was confiscated in 1945, it served as an ornithological station. In 1995, its extensive reconstruction took place. Currently, the castle is part of a hotel complex, in the castle itself there is a luxury restaurant, cafe and wine cellar.
