Waterdamm

The first written mention of Mušov dates from 1276. The village was founded by German colonizers in the 13th century on the old north-south country road from the area of today's Brno to Vienna. Near the village there was a bridge over the Dyje, which flowed through floodplain forests through numerous meanders and regularly flooded the surroundings.

Mušov was liquidated despite the resistance of its inhabitants in the late 1970s on the basis of a decision of the then socialist authorities due to the construction of the Nové Mlýny waterworks. Until 1976, Mušov was an independent municipality, the resolution of the plenary session of the District National Committee (ONV) Břeclav of 22 April 1976 approved the creation of a joint local national committee of the municipalities of Pasohlávky and Mušov with its seat in Pasohlávky and the resolution of the plenary session of ONV Břeclav of 13 April In 1979, consent was issued for the abolition of the village of Mušov with effect from 1 January 1980. Since then, the cadastre of Mušov has been a part of the municipality of Pasohlávky (until 2006 the district of Břeclav, then the district of Brno-venkov).

Residents could choose: either get an apartment or build a family house in a newly measured street in Pasohlávky. Thanks to the efforts of conservationists, the church of St. Linhart has been preserved from its own village, which today stands on a small island in the middle of the Věstonice reservoir. Statue of St. Jan Nepomucký, which stood in front of the Mušov bridge, was moved to Pavlov, where it stands in front of the cemetery. The wine cellars below Hradisko Hill, located north of the reservoirs on the west side of the road leading from Pohořelice and the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, built at the expense of the Rinder family (one of two families allowed to stay in Mušov after the war) and standing at the crossroads in front of dam. The cross from the Mušov square was transported to Opatovice, where it is located in front of the local church. The last day of the opening of the post office in Mušov was June 30, 1978. It was deleted from the list of settlements in January 1980, the area of Mušov was definitively flooded by the waters of the reservoir in 1987.
