It is located on a hill called Pacific Island. It is surrounded by the horseshoe Nový rybník, which is fed by the border stream Včelínek. In the top part of the stone terrace there is a former summer house, later rebuilt into a hunting lodge. It was built around 1629 by Cardinal František Ditrichštejn on the site of a former fortified point. The then newly built pond reached as far as Mikulov and the water area had an area of more than 100 ha. In the middle of it, a large 14-hectare island was created, which was gradually planted with rare trees and shrubs. The summer house was its dominant feature. It served as a picnic and resting place of the Mikulov estate. It was connected to the town by a horse chestnut alley and the surface was then bridged by a multi-arch brick bridge. The decline of the island complex began with the draining and drying of the pond in 1855 and then continued after crossing the island with a deep cut in the railway. The castle was maintained until the end of the war. After 1945, a pond with a current area of 31 ha was restored in the northern part and the southern part was gradually clogged with alluvium, and currently there is a large wetland. Therefore, today's building lies on a kind of peninsula and a brick bridge protrudes above the overgrown surrounding swamp only its upper part. In the years 1949-89 it was inaccessible because it lay in the border zone. Behind the tracks towards the Austrian side, a line barrier of the so-called Iron Curtain was built. After 1989, only the ruins of the building remained, the former park was overgrown with overgrown trees and the whole area was unpleasant.
It was not until the end of the 1990s that the building was taken over by a new private owner and gradually brought to life at least the northern part of the island. Today, the chateau already has a new roof and the immediate surroundings are cleaned of overgrown trees. As the main cycle route Prague - Vienna and the Mikulov Wine Trail now pass along the route of the former so-called signal light, it becomes a frequent stop for passing cyclists. It is also a grateful destination for excursionists, who can park at the nearby Sedlecký Mlýn, where there is a restaurant and guest house.
